Taughannock Falls New York State Park is located along the finger lakes just north of Ithaca. Taughannock Falls has a 215 foot drop making it 33 feet higher than Niagara Falls and is the highest vertical falls in the North Eastern USA. Its an easy 3/4 mile hike to the falls along the riverbed. You can also hike higher along the top of the gorge as well. This Park has over 782 acres including camping, swimming, boat rentals, and day use areas. Events are quite often held in the park during the summer.
